PERIMETER In the spring of 2020 one of my students brought the word ‘perimeter’ to the attention of the class. We were in the midst of lockdown, very much aware of the limits and boundaries of our movements on the one hand and very much aware of our freedom (living in theNetherland, with sensible policies and care) on the other hand. “Peri-” means about, around or enclosing. The pandemic has made us more aware of our perimeters - our many perimeters, literally and figuratively. All over the world. Garden of Provinciehuis in The Hague, The Netherlands. Spring 2020.
